Default What's your gaming history?

Ok so this is game related but not specific to one genre or machine. What's your gaming history? For me it starts with a generic entertainment system. I'm not sure which make but it was the good old square ball a'la pong! From that it moved to BBC Micro computers at school. Typing code for two hours to play a parachute game or playing granny's garden. My gaming really took off in 1988/89 when I received a Amiga 500 for Christmas. That's where it stayed through secondary school aside from tinkering with the school pc's. Then in 1996 I bought a playstation, this was the start of my console years. Over the next few years I went through the playstation, N64, Dreamcast, Xbox and Xbox 360 all the time missing that feeling I used to get from using my old Amiga. So when I split up with my then girlfriend I blew the house money we'd been saving on my first self built PC. I'm currently on my second looking to build a third in the near future. Over the last 25 years of gaming I have played games such as: Magic Pockets, Championship Manager 93, Battlefield 2, Shenmue, Syndicate, Geoff Crammond F1GP, Cannon Fodder, Speedball to name but a few!
What about you guys?

I too had a generic console - that played pong basket ball etc.

From there I went to a ZX81 where you programmed the game and spent 2 mins playing the game. Then went through the C64 games like chuckie egg, green beret to name a few. Then went to the Amiga 500 playing games like Geoff Crammonds F1 , Sensible World of Soccer, Superfrog , Cannon Fodder also and a few others.

Then got my first PC an 800mhz Intel Duron, Didn't play a huge amount on it but then bought a PS1. Colin Macrae Rally, Tekken. Then went to second PC and started on Counter Strike v0.9 and really stuck with PC gaming from there (have owned PS2, PS3 and XBOX and XBOX360)

Mainly play MMOs and CS GO at the moment but will play anything with a multiplayer game in it.

My first PC was an Amstrad 1512. 10Mb hard drive (optional), 4 colour CGA graphics and a 5 1/2" floppy drive...

MS-DOS 3, Wordperfect 5, dBase III, batch scripting, Sopwith... Thems were the days Oh how you'd dream of it looking how it was going to print out... Star Office came on 15 floppy disks and did just that! WOWZERS!

Started off with ZX81, added a fuller keyboard and then my dad made a pcb board which allowed you to redefine asci characters to an 8x8 graphic using binary. I was amazed. I was able to redefine the letter A in space invaders to a real space invader

After that I went to the CBM 64 which was epic. I moved on to Dragon 32 but that flopped. Nect was the Amiga 500, went onto the 1200 and added a 500MB hard Drive for Workbench...again, epic. When CBM went bust (It should have been the defecto standard in gaming - built in gfx card and Yamaha sound card).

I sold off my Amiga and bought into a Pentium 75 with 4mb of Ram and and paid an extra 90 quid for a cdrom drive. I was out in Germany at the time and bought it from Tiny computers, tax free,, for the bargain price of 1170 quid.

Since then I've never looked back but still miss my Amiga days.

I missed mine so much I bought an Amiga 500 from eBay! Complete with 512k upgrade to the memory so it has a massive 1mb! I've still got the tv I used for my original Amiga back in 89. Haven't had it set up since we moved really should though!

started with a commodore 64 playing games like blue max, Aztec challenge, Monty on the run, raid over Moscow loved this game. also commando who dares wins 1 and 2. Then moved onto amiga 500 with the extended hard drive that plugged into the side. Spent most of the time playing sensible world of soccer. Then the 1st playstation came out with the game wipe out. Then resident evil. One thing I do know I had some great gamming in them days and still do today. with the difference in the 80s game would punish you a lot more than todays next gen save when you want style.
